One Single Impression: Slowly

The sky is dark, the sun won't rise
Being stubborn on a cold Monday morning
January has past
February is here
Slowly the sun wakes, stretching her beaming light over the horizon
You are gone, my world is cold
The light from the sun blinds me as it rises into the sky
I await your return, the week will be long
Time moves
So slowly

january went by fast for me. i think time (fast/slow) is relative.. as far as love is concerned, time is indeed slow!

I agree with Floreta, there's something about love that slows time, and it could be all in the mind.

Love, like spring, can't come quickly enough sometimes (most times). Thanks for joining in, Laurie!

A great post. I keep reading it, and while the tone is sad, the words feel warm in my head. I see that sun, rising as you picture it. It made me very sad to think of you alone, and wonderful that you allowed us to hear your voice and see your words.

This is a beautiful blend of yearning for the return of spring and love - both kinds of warmth.

January did flash by. Good thing, too, up here in Maine. We had enough winter weather for the whole season. I am so looking forward to spring. Your poem is very nice.
