One of my favorite and most familiar scenes, living in Connecticut, is that of fallen logs and stone walls. It is comforting and soothing to me.

- I am a forty-something finding herself with a little more "me" time now that the kids are older. I've been a frustrated college student for years and have yet to earn that bachelor's! I love to walk or run, I love the water but hate swimming. One of these days i'd like to work up the skill and the courage to complete a triatholon as well as run a marathon. My family is my source of pride, my children my true joy. My husband is my rock--he inspires me beyond belief and I love him beyond measure. He is my true soul-mate and my best friend.

Stone walls are the best ... and what's the saying (poem) about them making good neighbors. Fallen trees and stocked cord wood makes warm neighbors!
Yup, "Good fences make good neighbors." That was the first thing I though of when I saw this. The poem is Mending Wall by Robert Frost.
