Intriguing! With my penchant for writing dream poetry, I read this as being about an ultimately sad dream on a summer's evening...taking "cleave" in it's "cut apart" meaning. When I read it in it's "stick together" meaning I read the poem to be about a very sensual experience. I really enjoy ambiguity. :-)
I am a forty-something finding herself with a little more "me" time now that the kids are older. I've been a frustrated college student for years and have yet to earn that bachelor's! I love to walk or run, I love the water but hate swimming. One of these days i'd like to work up the skill and the courage to complete a triatholon as well as run a marathon. My family is my source of pride, my children my true joy. My husband is my rock--he inspires me beyond belief and I love him beyond measure. He is my true soul-mate and my best friend.

Love how you looped this one around. Very vivid!
I agree! Very vivid indeed!
movement
You made me ache for summer! Such beautiful and vivid imagery.
Love the circular nature of this poem. It makes it impossible to pause and stop the movement.
I sure do like that very beautiful movement.
The word "breeze" is full of easy summer peace. Thanks for reminding me!
Great stuff, Laurie.
i like the ordering of your words and the way this flows
i like the cleave is a self-contradicting word:
stick together
cut apart

ahhhh!
that lovely feeling of timelessness, motionlessness!
They don't last that long, though...but wonderful to remember.
Thanks, Laurie!
Great movement and flow in this piece! Love it....
perfect moments of movement

Enjoyed reading these warm weather verbs-
